Many people are troubled by bad breath. To alleviate it, in addition to maintaining good personal hygiene, you can also improve it through certain foods, and yogurt is one of them.
Yogurt Jam Pudding
Drinking 90 grams of yogurt daily can significantly improve bad breath for 80% of people. This is because the bacteria in yogurt inhibit the activity of rot-causing bacteria in the mouth, reducing the amount of tongue coating, and the odor will naturally lessen. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) partially acknowledges this. There are many factors that cause bad breath, such as poor gastrointestinal function, oral diseases, or respiratory diseases. If these pathological factors are ruled out, drinking more yogurt can indeed be helpful in alleviating bad breath.
TCM explains that bad breath is related not only to gastrointestinal and digestive functions but also to oral hygiene. The odor in the mouth is generally emitted by microorganisms residing on the tongue, teeth, and gums. Not cleaning the mouth after meals, especially after sleeping, allows saliva and air to stagnate in the mouth, which accelerates the reproduction of odor-causing bacteria. Preliminary research shows that the active bacteria in yogurt can inhibit the bacteria that cause bad breath to a certain extent. This is equivalent to the "good" bacteria in yogurt crowding out the "bad" bacteria that easily cause odor, helping people get rid of the trouble of bad breath. However, TCM reminds that preventing bad breath also requires persisting in cleaning the mouth after meals and drinking more water daily.
