Dried longan is made by drying fresh longans. It can be used to make tea or sweet soups. When selecting them, you can roughly follow these 4 steps.
Look
Good dried longans have thin, brittle, smooth shells. They are full and not shrunken, with no damage or collapse. The color is yellowish-brown, and the size is relatively large. When you peel the shell, the flesh inside is brownish.
Shake
Pick up a dried longan and shake it. If you hear no sound and it doesn't shake, it indicates that the flesh is quite full.

Smell
When you open a good dried longan, the flesh has a unique, delicate fragrance of longan. If you smell a pungent odor, it is likely that it has been fumigated with sulfur, and it is recommended not to buy it.
Taste
Good dried longan has a thick flesh, a sweet and rich flavor, and a soft, chewy texture.
It should be noted that first, if you find small white spots on the shell of the dried longan, especially near the stem, be careful, as it is likely moldy.
Second, after buying dried longan, it is best to store it in a sealed container in a ventilated place. Third, dried longan is not suitable for everyone. People with excessive internal heat should not eat too much of it.
