Enjoying delicious food is a gratifying experience, but the fast-paced modern life has forced significant changes in our eating habits. However, who would have thought that improper dietary practices can accelerate our demise and shorten our lifespan?
1. Skipping Breakfast:
Hazards: It severely damages the stomach, prevents you from working with full energy, and also makes you appear "older."
Recommendation: Breakfast foods should be as tasty and appetizing as possible; have sufficient quantity and good quality; be small in volume but high in calories; be quick and easy to prepare; and include a balance of dry and wet foods, as well as meat and vegetables. If you are truly short on time, you can bring some biscuits to tide you over.
2. An Overly Lavish Dinner:
Hazards: In the evening, insulin levels in the blood peak. Insulin can convert blood sugar into fat, which accumulates on the walls of blood vessels and the abdomen. Eating too lavish a dinner over time can lead to obesity. Additionally, prolonged lavish dinners can disrupt the body's natural biological clock, making it easy to develop insomnia.
Recommendation:
First, eat dinner early to significantly reduce the risk of developing urinary tract stones.
Second, eat a light dinner. Dinner should be primarily vegetarian, with a focus on consuming plenty of fresh vegetables and minimizing the intake of excessive protein and fatty foods.
Third, eat a small dinner. Generally, the calories provided by dinner should not exceed 30% of the total daily caloric intake.
3. Eating Too Quickly:
Hazards: It burdens the digestive system and can lead to obesity. Eating too quickly means food is not chewed thoroughly, which hinders the initial digestion by saliva and salivary amylase in the mouth, thus burdening the digestive system. Short chewing time keeps the vagus nerve in a state of over-excitement, and over time, this can easily lead to obesity due to excessive appetite.
Recommendation: You should chew slowly and set aside more time for your meals.
4. Insufficient Water Intake:
Hazards: It can lead to brain aging; trigger cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases; and affect kidney metabolic function.
Recommendation: Drink more water and urinate frequently.
5. Replacing Meals with Fruits and Vegetables:
Hazards: This can lead to a deficiency in substances like protein, causing nutritional imbalance and even triggering diseases.
Recommendation: When using fruits as a meal substitute, first consider whether your body type is suitable for it.
6. Smoking After a Meal:
Hazards: Smoking a cigarette after a meal exposes you to more toxins than smoking ten cigarettes at other times. This is because after eating, gastrointestinal motility and blood circulation increase, and the body's ability to absorb smoke enters an "optimal state," making it easier for toxic substances in cigarettes to enter the body.
Recommendation: Quit smoking completely.
7. Brewing Tea in a Vacuum Flask:
Hazards: Tea is best brewed with water around 80°C. If tea is steeped in high-temperature water in a vacuum flask for a long time, it is like simmering it with low-heat water. This destroys the vitamins in the tea, causes a large amount of aromatic oil to evaporate, and leads to excessive leaching of tannins and theophylline.
Recommendation: Use a different cup to brew your tea.
