In the autumn and winter seasons, joint pain is more common. Recently, a study in Greece confirmed that eating olive oil has a protective effect on joints.
A study conducted by Dr. Athina Linos of the University of Athens Medical School in Greece and her colleagues found that eating more olive oil can reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis attacks. In the study, researchers compared the diets of 145 rheumatoid arthritis patients and 188 participants in a control group. The results showed that people who ate more olive oil had a lower risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis than those who rarely ate it. Dr. Linos analyzed that this is because the unsaturated fatty acids it contains have an anti-inflammatory effect.
