Homemade recipes for street food.

While street food is undoubtedly delicious, the health hazards associated with it make it unsuitable for frequent consumption. But worry not! I'm here to introduce you to homemade versions of two popular snacks, so you can enjoy their delicious flavors right at home!

Grilled Liangmian

Grilled Liangmian is a local specialty from the Northeast region of China. It can be prepared in three ways: grilled over charcoal, cooked on a griddle, or deep-fried. Currently, the griddle and deep-fried methods are the most popular. Grilled Liangmian is low-cost and incredibly tasty. The original Liangmian used to be the regular kind, but later, a special type was developed (thinner and softer than the common cold noodles found in markets, and it doesn't require a drying process after being made), making it soft and ready to eat directly.

Ingredients:

1 sheet of Grilled Liangmian, an appropriate amount of toasted white sesame seeds, an appropriate amount of cilantro, half a spoonful of garlic chili sauce, an appropriate amount of black vinegar, an appropriate amount of cumin powder.

Instructions:

1. Heat a flat-bottomed pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Keep the heat at medium.

2. Place the Liangmian flat in the pan, being careful not to let it fall apart. Spray some water. The amount of water depends on the dryness of the Liangmian. The ones I bought were very dry and brittle, so I added a lot of water, almost as if boiling it. This step softens the Liangmian, making it easier to flip.

3. Wash an egg and crack it into the pan.

4. Stir it around to combine the egg with the Liangmian, making it into one large piece.

5. Flip it over and spread the Grilled Liangmian sauce evenly.

6. Spread the garlic chili sauce evenly. Be careful not to add too much, as it can be very salty. If you prefer a sweet and sour flavor, you can add black vinegar at this step.

7. Sprinkle cumin powder evenly.

8. Sprinkle toasted white sesame seeds elegantly.

9. Fold the left and right thirds towards the center.

10. Plate it and cut into sections. Without a small spatula or a non-stick pan, this is how you have to cut it.

11. Sprinkle with cilantro and dig in!

Grilled Spicy Rice Cakes

Ingredients: An appropriate amount of rice cakes, an appropriate amount of carrot, an appropriate amount of green bell pepper, an appropriate amount of crab sticks, an appropriate amount of onion, an appropriate amount of green onion and garlic, an appropriate amount of chili sauce.

Instructions:

1. Ingredients: Rice cakes, chili sauce, carrot, onion, green bell pepper, crab sticks, green onion, and garlic.

2. Cut the rice cakes into strips and blanch them in boiling water.

3. Once soft, remove them and rinse with cold water.

4. Place a griddle over low heat and brush a layer of sesame oil on it.

5. Arrange the rice cakes on the griddle.

6. In another pan, heat oil and sauté the green onion and garlic until fragrant.

7. Add the carrot and onion and stir-fry.

8. Stir-fry until the onion is fragrant, then add a large spoonful of chili sauce and continue cooking.

9. Add the green bell pepper, crab sticks, water, sugar, and chicken powder. Stir-fry until everything is well combined, then pour the mixture over the rice cakes on the griddle.

10. Pouring it onto the sizzling griddle makes a tempting sizzling sound, which is very appetizing.
