After the weather heats up, people generally enjoy drinking ice-cold beer. Recently, nutritionists have pointed out to consumers four things to note when drinking ice-cold beer.
1. Note that the beer temperature should not be too low.
Beer stored in the refrigerator should be kept between 5°C and 10°C. This is because the solubility of carbon dioxide in beer changes with temperature. Within this temperature range, the various components of the beer are in a balanced state, creating the best taste. Beer that is too cold is not only unpleasant to drink, but it can also cause the proteins in the liquid to break down and become free, destroying its nutritional value. For draft beer, which is filtered through a sterile membrane to remove yeast and impurities and then aseptically bottled, the various nutrients and flavors are also most stable between 5°C and 10°C.
2. Note that drinking in excess is not advisable.
Beer has a low alcohol content and is rich in nutrients.
Some people drink large quantities of beer on hot days, consuming four or five bottles in a row. The large amount of water consumed will be quickly excreted, but the alcohol will be rapidly absorbed, increasing the lead content in the blood. If consumed excessively every day throughout the summer, it can suppress and affect the normal vitality of cells, and may also lead to fat accumulation, which blocks the synthesis of ribonucleic acid, causing "beer heart" and a "pot belly," thereby affecting the normal function of the heart. A large bottle of beer is generally 640 ml, and it is recommended that the daily consumption does not exceed 1000 ml.
3. Note that smoked fish is not a suitable pairing.
There is an important piece of common knowledge: when drinking large amounts of beer, the dishes served should not include smoked foods like smoked fish or smoked meat. This is because smoked foods contain organic amines, and during cooking, they can also produce polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, amino acid derivatives, and even benzopyrene. When excessive drinking increases the lead content in the blood, these substances in smoked food can combine with it, potentially inducing digestive diseases or even tumors.
4. Note that beer bottles should not be tied together.
In recent years, there have been frequent incidents of beer bottles exploding and injuring people, some involving bottles tied with string that exploded after being bumped on the way home. Unopened beer bottles contain a certain amount of internal pressure, and when the ambient temperature is high, the pressure inside the bottle also increases. Therefore, it is especially important to be "explosion-proof" when buying beer on hot days. Do not purchase generic beers with non-standard labels, tied packaging, or bottles without a "B" mark.
