The peak summer travel season has arrived. In light of the characteristics of this season, we would like to remind all tourists to enhance their self-protection awareness and improve their ability to prevent risks when traveling.
I. Pay attention to food safety: When traveling during the hot summer season, tourists should pay attention to food safety, observe good hygiene practices, and prevent physical discomfort or illness caused by "illness from the mouth" and unscientific eating habits. Especially when consuming seafood products in coastal cities, be sure to select clean and fresh items to prevent food poisoning. When eating seafood and immediately after, do not drink ice beer, ice water, or cold water, and avoid eating overly cold foods to prevent conditions such as diarrhea.
II. Stay away from dangerous areas during bad weather: When encountering severe weather and natural disasters such as thunderstorms, typhoons, tropical storms, mudslides, floods, and tsunamis, you should stay away from dangerous areas or zones and must not enter restricted areas designated by scenic spots. Follow the arrangements and mobilization of the tour guide and travel agency, take relevant protective measures in a timely manner, and do not wander off or separate from the tour group on your own.
III. Swim only in designated areas at the beach: When participating in swimming activities in coastal areas, swim within the area agreed upon with the travel agency or within the area designated by the scenic spot. It is best to swim with a companion, maintain a strong sense of self-protection, carry necessary protective and lifesaving equipment, and do not enter the water alone to prevent drowning accidents.
IV. Prevent falls and getting lost in mountainous areas: When traveling in mountains or areas with complex terrain, be cautious of slipping, falling, and getting lost. Remember the designated walking routes of the scenic spot, follow the guide, and do not go to dangerous areas without protective facilities. It is best to tour with a companion to avoid taking the wrong path or getting lost.
V. Prevent heatstroke: Traveling in high-temperature and high-humidity environments during the summer can easily lead to heatstroke. People with cardiovascular diseases, as well as the elderly and children who are physically weak, should pay special attention to taking necessary preventive measures. Consult a doctor before your trip and prepare some preventive medications for heatstroke.
VI. Prevent "air-conditioning sickness": Be aware of "air-conditioning sickness" during summer travel. The temperature difference between indoor and outdoor air, and between inside and outside of vehicles, should not be too large, otherwise, it is easy to develop symptoms such as a cold or gastrointestinal discomfort.
VII. Choose a legitimate travel agency: Sign up for tours with a legitimate travel agency. Before joining a tour, tourists should verify the qualifications of the travel agency and do not book with "unlicensed agencies," "unlicensed offices," or agencies operating beyond their licensed scope. Some scenic spots from other cities have set up offices in your city but have not obtained the qualification to operate travel agency services; their business activities are therefore in violation of regulations.
VIII. Review the terms of the travel contract: Before joining a tour, you should carefully inquire with the travel agency about the reception standards and facilities, and carefully review the terms of the travel contract. For example, check whether the hotel provides hot water 24 hours a day or on a set schedule, and whether the accommodation room has air conditioning.
IX. Purchase travel accident insurance: To enhance self-protection, you should purchase a travel accident insurance policy for yourself. The travel agency's liability insurance only covers compensation for damages caused by the agency's negligence and does not cover all accidents that may happen to tourists during their trip. To ensure your interests are maximally protected in the event of an accident, it is best to purchase your own travel accident insurance before you travel.
X. Prevent theft of property and personal injury: Increase your safety awareness to prevent theft of property and personal injury. When sleeping, lock your doors and windows. When going out, store valuables in the hotel's safe or carry them with you. Never leave valuables unattended in your room.
