Recommended Dietary Therapy:
Honeysuckle Fermented Black Bean Congee: 9g of honeysuckle, 9g of fermented black bean. Decoct in water, remove the dregs, add 60g of japonica rice and an appropriate amount of sugar, and cook into a congee. Take 1-2 times daily. It has the effects of clearing heat and resolving toxins, as well as dispelling wind-heat, making it very suitable for patients with wind-heat type common cold.
Honeysuckle and Mint Drink: 30g of honeysuckle, 10g of mint, 60g of fresh reed root. First, add honeysuckle and reed root to 500ml of water and boil for 15 minutes. Then add mint and boil for another 3 minutes. Strain, add an appropriate amount of sugar, and take while warm, 3-4 times daily. Cilantro and Scallion Drink: 15g of cilantro, 3 sections of scallion (with roots). Wash both, add an appropriate amount of water, and boil for another 5 minutes after it comes to a boil. Suitable for initial patients with common cold differentiated as wind-cold type in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Both scallion and cilantro have the effect of inducing sweating, so it is not suitable for those who sweat heavily.
Tofu, Fermented Black Bean, and Scallion Soup: Cut 250g of tofu into cubes, wash 12g of fermented black bean. Place both with 15g of scallion sections in a clay pot, add water and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Take it while hot. It dispels wind-cold externally and clears heat and resolves toxins internally, making it very suitable for those with external wind-cold that has transformed into heat internally, with main symptoms of vexation, dry mouth, and throat pain. Hyacinth Bean Flower and Agastache Drink: 20g of hyacinth bean flower, 12g of agastache, 10g of honeysuckle, and an appropriate amount of sugar. Wash the hyacinth bean flower, agastache, and honeysuckle, decoct with an appropriate amount of water, and add sugar to taste. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, hyacinth bean flower is known for its spleen-strengthening and dampness-transforming effects, while agastache transforms dampness, stops vomiting, and relieves summer-heat. Combined with honeysuckle, which clears heat and resolves toxins and dispels wind-heat, they have a great effect of transforming dampness and resolving the exterior.
Agastache Leaf Congee: Decoct 20g of fresh agastache leaves in water and set aside aside. First, cook 100g of japonica rice into a congee, add the prepared agastache decoction and bring to a boil to make agastache congee. Take twice daily. It has the effects of strengthening the spleen, transforming dampness, and resolving the exterior.
