Spinach and kale are better for your eyes.

According to a report in the "Modern Health Newspaper," although we all think carrots are very good for the eyes, spinach is actually more effective for preventing age-related eye diseases like cataracts and macular degeneration.

Dr. Michael Mammo, a professor of ophthalmology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, points out that most people believe vitamin A is very beneficial for eye health, so carrots, which are rich in this nutrient, are also considered a great food for protecting the eyes. However, most people are not deficient in vitamin A.

In a recent study, Professor Bill Christen of Harvard Medical School found that people who often eat foods containing lutein and zeaxanthin are less likely to develop cataracts. Therefore, they believe that compared to carrots, green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale, which contain lutein and zeaxanthin, are better for protecting the eyes.
