On January 18th, Mr. Zhang and his family of six simultaneously showed symptoms of food poisoning. After being rescued at the hospital, the entire family has been out of danger. What Mr. Zhang did not expect was that the "culprit" of the poisoning was actually the oranges that had been frozen in the refrigerator.
According to Mr. Zhang, a few days ago, he bought two jin of oranges. As they were not finished that day, he was worried the remaining oranges would spoil, so he put them in the freezer for storage. The next day, Mr. Zhang took out the frozen oranges, and the whole family ate them while watching TV. Before bed, all six family members experienced stomach pain at the same time, accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness and vomiting. The next morning, the family of six didn't even have the strength to get out of bed, at which point they realized the severity of the situation and called 120 for help.
An expert from the emergency center introduced that when they arrived at Mr. Zhang's home, they found all six members of the family lying paralyzed on the bed, all complaining of dizziness and nausea. After a preliminary diagnosis by doctors, these were identified as typical symptoms of food poisoning. However, Mr. Zhang thought that they had not consumed any unclean food before, so how could they have been poisoned. Finally, he mentioned to the doctor that the family had all eaten oranges that had been frozen for several days. After careful analysis, the doctor determined that the "culprit" of the poisoning was indeed these frozen oranges. Currently, Mr. Zhang's family is no longer in life-threatening danger.
"Cases of poisoning from eating frozen oranges have occurred from time to time before," the expert reminded. Oranges should not be stored in the refrigerator. One should be cautious about eating frozen oranges, as it can easily lead to food poisoning.
