Which foods should not be stored together?

In daily life, for convenience, certain foods are often stored together. However, some foods are not suitable for storage together. If they are forced to be stored together, reactions can occur, and even toxins can be produced, which can harm human health.

Fresh eggs with ginger and onions: Eggshells have many small pores. The strong smell of ginger and onions can penetrate these pores, accelerating the spoilage of fresh eggs. After a short period, the eggs will start to smell bad.

Rice with fruits: Rice tends to generate heat. When fruits are exposed to heat, they easily lose moisture and dry out. Conversely, the rice can absorb moisture, leading to mold or insect infestation.

Bread with biscuits: Biscuits are dry and contain little moisture, while bread has a higher moisture content. When stored together, the biscuits will become soft and lose their crispiness, and the bread will become hard and unpleasant to eat.

Cucumbers with tomatoes: Cucumbers are sensitive to ethylene, and tomatoes produce ethylene, which can cause cucumbers to spoil and rot. Remember, once a tomato becomes rotten, it should not be eaten.
