Skipping breakfast won't lower your blood sugar.

About one-third of type 2 diabetes patients can control their blood sugar at ideal levels in the early stages by managing their diet. However, dietary control does not mean reducing the number of meals, and certainly not skipping breakfast.

If you skip breakfast, the source of blood sugar is reduced, and the body cannot get the necessary energy for normal metabolism. The body will then break down its own fat and convert it into blood sugar in the liver. If too much fat is broken down in the body, it can cause headaches, weakness, and in severe cases, it may lead to diabetic ketoacidosis.

If breakfast is skipped for a long time, the body's protein will be broken down and converted into blood sugar. The breakdown of large amounts of protein will reduce the body's ability to fight disease, thus inducing complications such as infections. Diabetic patients who skip breakfast are prone to hypoglycemia before lunch. Hypoglycemia stimulates the body to secrete hormones that increase blood sugar, which in turn leads to elevated blood sugar levels.
