The Secret of Salt

The Secret of Salt

Foreword: For health and beauty, rely on salt. Don't underestimate it. The salt in your kitchen is the salt with the most stable pH value. If the concentration is high enough, salt also has a bactericidal effect. When making your own beauty products, adding salt to egg whites for a face mask has an anti-inflammatory and calming effect, making it suitable for after-sun skin care.

1. The Many Benefits of Using Salt for Hair Care

Salt has the effects of deep cleansing, sterilization and detoxification, soothing muscles and promoting blood circulation, and astringing the sebaceous glands. Using salt to wash hair is the top choice for oily hair. You can use edible salt from your kitchen or ready-made shampoo salt available on the market. The specific method is: if your scalp is oily but your hair is not too greasy, you can wash your hair normally with shampoo, then evenly apply the shampoo salt to your scalp, and gently massage with your fingertips for 3-5 minutes before rinsing with clean water. It is recommended to do this 2-3 times a week.

2. Controlling Oil Secretion in the T-Zone

Apply fine salt to the T-zone, gently massage, and rest for 3 minutes. Then, on the areas where the pores are open on both sides of the nose, use the middle finger to perform an upward squeezing massage.

3. Removing Acne Marks and Smoothing Skin Texture

With your fingertip, dip a small amount of salt and massage in a spiral motion three times over acne marks or uneven areas. Then, apply a generous amount of salt to the areas that need "treatment" and wash it off after five or six minutes. Note: Do not massage active pimples.

4. Improving Rough Skin and Removing Freckles

Wet salt with water and apply it to your face, massaging for 1 minute with the same pressure as when washing your face. Draw large circles from the nose to the cheeks, moving upwards. Then, use your fingertips to rub in circles on the freckled areas.

5. Removing Underarm Odor

Salt has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. You can apply salt directly to your underarms while bathing. Normally, you can carry a cotton pad soaked in saltwater (slightly less salty than seawater) with you to use it to remove sweat at any time.

6. A Double Chin Remedy

Take your right index finger coated with a lot of salt and move it along the jawline and the right cheek from the middle to the right. Similarly, use your left finger to move along the jawline and left cheek to the left. Alternate between your left and right hands, doing this rhythmically 50 times. Then, wrap the salted area with plastic wrap and secure it with a hairband. Rest for 10 minutes before rinsing with water. Do this once every other day.

7. Removing Foot Odor

Apply a large amount of coarse salt to the tips of your toes, between your toes, and the soles of your feet, and rub your hands 5-6 times. Rest for 5 minutes, then rinse with water.

8. Caring for Back Acne

After bathing, let your body warm up thoroughly, then apply plenty of salt to your back once your pores have opened. Use a brush to massage for 1 minute; don't press too hard, just allow the salt to move between the skin and the brush. Then, soak a sponge in light saltwater, apply it to your back for 10 minutes, and rinse with water.

9. Deep Skin Cleansing

After washing your face, put a small spoonful of fine salt in the palm of your hand and add 3-5 drops of water. Use your fingers to mix the salt and water thoroughly, then dip your fingers in the saltwater and wipe from your forehead downwards while performing a circular massage. A few minutes later, when the saltwater on your face dries and turns into a white powder, wash your face with warm water and apply a moisturizing lotion. Do this once after washing your face in the morning and once at night. This has a great cleansing and degreasing effect, but note that you should avoid the skin around the eyes, and be cautious if you have sensitive skin.

10. Eye Cleansing and Brightening

On a windy day, after coming back outdoors, you can rinse a cotton swab in a cup of warm saltwater and use it to wipe the inner and outer corners of your eyes to cleanse and brighten them, and remove dirt.
