Whether a woman has sufficient qi and blood can be mainly determined by observing 12 parts of the body
1. Look at the skin
Skin that is pinkish-white, lustrous, elastic, wrinkle-free, and free of spots indicates sufficient qi and blood. Conversely, rough, dull, dark, sallow, pale, bluish, or reddish skin, as well as the presence of spots, all indicate poor health and insufficient qi and blood.
2. Look at the hair
Black, dense, and silky hair indicates sufficient qi and blood. Dry hair, hair loss, yellowing, whitening, and split ends all indicate insufficient qi and blood.
3. Look at the eyes
Looking at the eyes is actually about observing the color of the sclera (the white part). The saying "a person gets old and their pearls turn yellow" refers to the sclera becoming cloudy and yellowish, with visible blood vessels, which indicates insufficient qi and blood. If the eyes can always be kept wide open, it indicates sufficient qi and blood. Conversely, large eye bags, dry eyes, and heavy eyelids all indicate insufficient qi and blood.
4. Look at exercise performance
If one experiences symptoms like chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty recovering from fatigue during exercise, it indicates insufficient qi and blood. Those who feel energetic and relaxed after exercise are in good condition.
5. Feel the temperature of the hands
If the hands are warm all year round, it indicates sufficient qi and blood. If the palms are hot, sweaty, or the hands are cold, it indicates insufficient qi and blood.
6. Look at the fingertips
For both children and adults, if the fingertips are flat, weak, or the tips are thin, it indicates insufficient qi and blood. If the fingertips are full, fleshy, and elastic, it indicates sufficient qi and blood.
7. Look at the veins
If blue veins are visible on an adult's index finger, it indicates poor digestive function in childhood, which has continued into adulthood. Such individuals have a weak physique and a deficiency of both qi and blood. If blue veins are visible on the little finger, it indicates insufficient kidney qi. If the lines on the palm, near the wrist crease, are numerous and deep, it indicates poor nutrition, a weak physique, and insufficient qi and blood in childhood. In adulthood, women with this condition are prone to gynecological diseases, while men are prone to conditions like prostate enlargement and gout.
8. Look at the lunula (the white crescent) on the fingernails
Normally, the lunula should be present on all fingers except the little finger. On the thumb, the lunula should cover 1/4 to 1/5 of the nail area. On the other fingers (index, middle, ring), it should not exceed 1/5. If there is no lunula on any finger or only on the thumb, it indicates a heavy internal cold, poor circulation, and insufficient qi and blood, preventing blood from reaching the fingertips. If the lunula is too numerous or too large, it can indicate hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, and other conditions.
9. Look at the vertical ridges on the fingernails
These only appear in adults, not in children. When vertical ridges appear on an adult's fingernails, it is a warning sign. It indicates a deficiency of both qi and blood, physical exhaustion, and a sign of aging.
10. Look at the gums
This is more noticeable in adults than in children. Receding gums indicate insufficient qi and blood. If you notice that the gaps between your teeth are widening and food gets stuck more easily, you should pay attention. Your body is on a decline, and aging is accelerating.
11. Look at the ears
Nowadays, people's physical health is getting poorer. Modern ears are small, appear stiff, and somewhat deformed in shape. It's rare to see round, plump, and full ears even in children and young people. However, such large ears are common in the elderly, suggesting that people in the past had significantly better physical health than modern people. In addition to the shape, young people should also observe the color, spots, and any pain. If the ears are light pink, lustrous, spot-free, wrinkle-free, and full, it indicates sufficient qi and blood. If they are dull and lack luster, it indicates a decline in qi and blood. If the ears are shrunken, dry, have spots, or many wrinkles, it indicates that kidney function is beginning to fail, and attention should be paid to this.
12. Look at sleep
If an adult can fall asleep quickly, sleep soundly, breathe evenly, and wake up naturally after a full sleep, like a child, it indicates abundant qi and blood. Conversely, difficulty falling asleep, waking up easily from dreams, frequent urination at night, deep breathing, or snoring all indicate a deficiency of blood.
