Precautions for Air Travel: Pay Attention to Diet Before Flying
While flying saves time, some people may experience discomfort such as dizziness, chest tightness, nausea, and vomiting during a flight. To avoid these situations, pay attention to your diet before flying:
1. Avoid eating too much. Overeating before a flight is harmful and offers no benefits. This is because during flight, due to high speed and a drop in air pressure, food can produce a large amount of gas in the body, increasing the burden on the heart and blood circulation, and easily causing "flight sickness" such as nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
2. Avoid eating foods high in fiber and those that are prone to causing gas. At an altitude of 5,000 meters, the pressure of gas in the body doubles compared to ground level. If you eat such foods, they can intensify the feeling of chest tightness and bloating during the flight.
3. Avoid eating foods that are too greasy or contain large amounts of animal protein. This is because these foods are difficult to empty from the stomach, and flying at high altitudes will also cause the stomach and intestines to expand.
