Assessing Men's Health Through the Abdomen
The following guide teaches men how to assess their heart's health by observing their abdomen.
A man's abdominal issues can indirectly reflect his heart's health. The abdomen can sometimes reveal heart problems, and one can discover related issues upon closer inspection. In life, taking care of yourself can be reflected in small details. The same goes for cherishing yourself.
One: Observe the Navel
Goldberg says: "Even if you are slim, fat accumulated around the abdomen is closely related to your risk of heart disease." Therefore, you should measure your waist circumference regularly. Ideally, the waist circumference should be kept within 35 inches (approximately 88.9 cm). To manage your waist circumference, engage in daily aerobic exercise and consume fewer simple carbohydrates, such as pastries and white bread, as they can easily increase abdominal fat.
Two: Don't Go Barefoot
When you go barefoot or wear shoes without arch support or biomechanical control (such as flip-flops), the plantar fascia—the connective tissue on the sole of the foot corresponding to the heel—becomes overworked, leading to heel pain.
Three: Note These Numbers
Goldberg says: "If you are over 35 years old but still don't know your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, you should see a doctor." This information can be used to assess your risk of heart disease.
