Fall Prevention of Pharyngitis
With the arrival of autumn, the large temperature difference between day and night leads many people to be careless about the temperature of their food. The stimulation from cold and hot foods can harm the throat. Furthermore, the current weather is the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, with temperatures still relatively high, making it peak season for air conditioning use. Being frequently in air-conditioned environments poses a significant challenge to the ears, nose, and throat, especially for individuals with allergies. In an enclosed air-conditioned room with poor air circulation, the indoor temperature and humidity become ideal for the breeding and survival of pathogens. In such an environment, it is easy to be infected by microbes, leading to diseases like pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
In addition, there has been an increase in the number of office workers suffering from pharyngitis. Besides the influence of office air conditioning, factors such as prolonged phone calls and overuse of the voice, teachers' long-term exposure to dust, frequent social engagements involving smoking and drinking that irritate the throat, long overtime hours leading to a weakened immune system, and the recent transition from summer to autumn with fluctuating temperatures are all important reasons why office workers are prone to throat diseases.
1. Maintaining a suitable indoor temperature and humidity with fresh air is an effective measure to prevent and treat acute and chronic pharyngitis. Dry indoor air, as well as excessively cold, hot, or humid conditions, can affect the defensive function of the pharyngeal mucosa, causing dysfunction, abnormal throat sensations, and eventually leading to pharyngitis.
2. Gargling and brushing your teeth in the morning, after meals, and before bed can maintain oral hygiene. At the same time, preventing and treating oral and nasal diseases and eliminating inflammatory foci are also crucial for preventing pharyngitis.
3. The diet should be light and easily digestible, supplemented with fresh, heat-clearing, and tender, juicy foods. Such as oranges, tangerines, pineapples, sugarcane, olives, duck pears, apples, etc., or drinking plenty of water and cool beverages, but the beverages should not be too strong.
4. Avoid smoking, alcohol, ginger, chili, mustard, garlic, and all spicy foods.
