Kidney Yin Deficiency Type

[Clinical Manifestations] Loose and shaky teeth, ulcerated and atrophic gums, exposed tooth roots, slightly red and swollen ulcer margins, or dizziness, tinnitus, feverishness in the palms and soles, lower back pain, slightly red tongue with little coating, and a thin, rapid pulse.

1. Spinach and Black-Bone Chicken Bone Soup: 1 set of black-bone chicken bones, 30g of goji berries, 30g of Chinese yam, 20g of Solomon's seal rhizome, 100g of spinach. Boil all ingredients together. Drink the soup and eat the vegetables, twice daily.

2. Cistanche and Cuscuta Stewed Pig Kidney: 2 pig kidneys, 60g of Cistanche deserticola, 30g of Cuscuta seeds, 10 red dates (pitted). First, cut the pig kidneys in half, remove the white fatty membrane, and slice them. Then place them with the other ingredients in a stewing pot. Add an appropriate amount of water and steam for 2-3 hours. Season and consume.

3. Goji Berry and Jujube Pulp Congee: 20g of goji berries, 30g of jujube pulp, 60g of japonica rice, and an appropriate amount of sugar. First, cook the goji berries, jujube pulp, and rice until done. Finally, add sugar and serve.

Qi and Blood Deficiency Type

[Clinical Manifestations] Pale, atrophic gums, exposed tooth roots, loose teeth, frequent gum bleeding, especially during brushing or sucking, a sour taste in the mouth, pale complexion, dizziness, insomnia with vivid dreams, pale tongue with a thin white coating, and a deep, thin pulse.

1. Codonopsis and Goji Berry Chicken Soup: 30g of Codonopsis root, 30g of goji berries, 20g of longan pulp, 150g of chicken. Place all ingredients in a clay pot and simmer into a soup. When cooked, add a small amount of wine and salt to taste. Consume once or twice daily.

2. Codonopsis and Astragalus Pig Spine Soup: 30g of Codonopsis root, 50g of Astragalus root, 200g of pig spine. Place all ingredients in a clay pot and simmer over low heat for 3 hours. Drink the soup and eat the meat.

3. Astragalus, Longan, and Cornus Beef Soup: 250g of beef, 10g of longan pulp, 15g of Astragalus root, 10g of Cornus officinalis, a small amount of mung bean sprouts. First, slice the beef and boil it in water to make a clear broth, removing scum and fat. Then add Astragalus root, Cornus officinalis, and longan pulp and cook until the liquid is reduced by half. Finally, season with wine and salt, add the mung bean sprouts, cook until done, and serve.

4. Astragalus, Jujube, and Goji Eel Soup: 300g of eel, 30g of Astragalus root, 30g of goji berries, 6 red dates (pitted), 3 slices of ginger. First, clean the eel, salt it to remove slime, blanch it in boiling water to remove the bloodiness, and then slice. Heat oil in a wok, sauté the ginger until fragrant, add a little rice wine, and remove after a moment. Then place the Astragalus root, goji berries, red dates, and eel meat in a clay pot. Add an appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. Season and serve.
