Cooked tomatoes are better for your heart.

Introduction: Multiple studies have found that the antioxidant lycopene in tomatoes has various health benefits, and the levels of lycopene in cooked tomatoes are higher than in raw tomatoes. Therefore, eating cooked tomatoes provides better heart protection.

According to a report by the British Daily Mail on January 13, a new study by the University of Verona in Italy found that eating cooked tomatoes allows for the intake of more antioxidants and has a better effect on preventing heart disease.

In the new study, participants were randomly divided into two groups, A and B. Group A ate tomato sauce after a high-fat diet, while Group B did not eat tomato sauce after the same diet. The test results found that participants who ate tomato sauce had better vascular health. Researchers pointed out that eating 80 grams of cooked tomatoes or tomato sauce and other tomato products daily can greatly improve the damage to the blood vessel walls caused by a high-fat diet, prevent the dysfunction of endothelial cells, and thus prevent arteriosclerosis.
