Introduction: Tomatoes are nutritious and can be eaten both raw and cooked, but peeling them can be difficult. Today, I'll teach you an easy way to peel tomatoes.
Roasting:
Skewer the bottom of a tomato with a fork and roast it over a flame for about 10 seconds. The skin will crack. After letting it cool for a few seconds, you can peel off the skin by hand, and it will come off in one complete piece.
(Roasting: Among the three methods, this is the quickest, yields the most complete peel, and is the most convenient!!!)
Boiling:
Pour water into a pot, bring it to a boil over high heat, and then put the tomatoes in to boil for about 20 seconds. You must constantly turn the tomatoes with a spoon so that all parts are scalded by the boiling water. Alternatively, you can use a large amount of water in the pot, enough to completely submerge the tomatoes.
After removing them, let them cool for a minute before peeling. However, your hands will still feel slightly hot, and it's not easy to hold the tomato as it can be slippery during the peeling process.
(Boiling: Although the time required isn't too long, you have to count the time to boil the water, the time to boil the tomatoes, plus the cooling time, which adds up to at least 5 minutes. Moreover, it wastes a whole pot of water and gas. While the cost isn't high, it can add up to a staggering amount over time.)
Scraping:
Using a spoon to scrape is also a method. The choice of spoon is quite important; its edge shouldn't be too thin or too thick. For example, if you use a thin metal spoon, the tomato is easily punctured. But if you use a smooth, white porcelain soup spoon, it requires a lot of effort. I think stainless steel and plastic spoons are good options.
(Scraping: Compared to the two methods above, this one seems the simplest, but for me, it's the most laborious of the three. When scraping, you have to master the right amount of force. If you're too gentle, the skin and flesh won't separate. If you're too forceful, you might tear the skin, making it even more troublesome to peel later. Also, for areas you can't scrape, you have to pick at them with your fingernails, which is very strenuous.)
