As the saying goes, food is the first necessity of the people. A reasonable diet can keep you from being overweight or underweight, and keep your cholesterol level neither too high nor too low. For patients with high blood pressure, a reasonable diet is particularly important. What should high blood pressure patients pay attention to in their diet?
①First, control the intake of energy. It is recommended to eat complex carbohydrates such as starch and corn, and eat less monosaccharides such as glucose, fructose, and sucrose that can easily cause blood lipids to rise.
②Limit the intake of fat. Cook food with vegetable oil and eat more marine fish containing unsaturated fatty acids, which can oxidize and lower plasma cholesterol, prolong platelet aggregation, inhibit thrombosis, and prevent stroke. It contains more linoleic acid, which also helps to increase the elasticity of microvessels and prevent complications of high blood pressure to a certain extent.
③Intake an appropriate amount of protein. For hypertensive patients, the daily protein intake should be 1g per kilogram of body weight. Eating fish protein 2-3 times a week can improve the elasticity and permeability of blood vessels, increase urinary sodium excretion, and thus lower blood pressure. If high blood pressure is complicated by renal insufficiency, protein intake should be restricted.
④Eat more foods rich in potassium and calcium but low in sodium, such as potatoes, eggplants, kelp, and lettuce. Foods high in calcium: milk, yogurt, and dried shrimp. Eat less meat soup, because the nitrogen extract in meat soup can increase uric acid in the body and increase the burden on the heart, liver, and kidneys.
⑤Limit the intake of salt: The total amount of sodium converted into salt, including cooking salt and other foods, should be gradually reduced to less than 6g per day, which is one flat cap of an ordinary beer cap after the gasket is removed. This helps to lower blood pressure and reduce sodium and water retention in the body. ⑥ Eat no less than 8 liang (400g) of fresh vegetables and 2 to 4 liang (100g-200g) of fruit daily. ⑦ Appropriately increase the intake of seafood: such as kelp, seaweed, and marine fish.
