Autumn is accompanied by pears.

Raw pears are cool-natured and sweet, with the effects of moistening the lungs, relieving coughs, nourishing yin, and clearing heat. They are especially suitable for babies to eat in early autumn.

Steamed Pear

Ingredients: 1 crystal pear, 2g fritillary bulb, 2g dried tangerine peel, 10g rock sugar, 15g glutinous rice.

Method:

1. Cut off the top third of the pear (including the stem) to use as a lid. Core the pear. Grind the fritillary bulb into a fine powder. Shred the dried tangerine peel. Steam the glutinous rice until cooked. Crush the rock sugar into small pieces.

2. Fill the cored pear with the steamed glutinous rice, crushed rock sugar, fritillary powder, and shredded tangerine peel. Place the pear in a steaming cup with about 150ml of water. Steam over high heat for 45 minutes.

Nutrition Tip: For upper respiratory tract infections, coughs with bacterial infections, and fever, eating steamed pears is quite effective. It moistens the lungs and resolves phlegm, and its effects are enhanced when combined with fritillary bulb and dried tangerine peel.

Hawthorn and Autumn Pear Juice

Ingredients: 1 autumn pear, 10 hawthorns, an appropriate amount of sugar.

Method:

1. Pit and wash the hawthorns, then place them in a bowl.

2. Peel, core, and chop the autumn pear into small pieces. Juice the pear and hawthorns together and pour into a glass. Add sugar to the juice and stir until dissolved. It is ready to drink.

Nutrition Tip: If your baby has a dry cough with no phlegm, dry lips and tongue, and feels warm when breathing, you can make this pear juice and have them drink it in the morning and evening. It has the effect of moistening the throat and promoting the production of body fluids.

Autumn Pear Milk Pudding

Ingredients: 1 autumn pear, 200ml milk, 10g rice flour, an appropriate amount of sugar.

Method: Peel, core, and chop the autumn pear into small pieces. Cook with a small amount of water until soft. Season with sugar. Mix into warm milk and rice flour until smooth. It is ready to serve.

Nutrition Tip: When cooked, the pear's nature becomes more mild. When made into a milk pudding, it is less irritating to a baby's stomach and spleen. It is suitable for babies with lung deficiency, shortness of breath, coughs, and a weak constitution.
