In many literary works, we often come across a plot where an "old Chinese medicine practitioner" feels the pulse and solemnly tells the patient they have "uterine coldness," making them unable to conceive... In clinical practice, friends also often nervously ask if they have "uterine coldness."
Symptoms of Uterine Coldness
Dark spots and poor complexion on the face;
Menstrual cycle is delayed, with reduced flow, dark purple color with blood clots, and a sluggish or uncomfortable flow. In severe cases, amenorrhea may occur.
Do you have these symptoms?
For women with uterine coldness, it's advisable to make adjustments and prevent it from the following three aspects.
Dang Gui Sheng Jiang Yang Rou Tang (Angelica, Ginger, and Lamb Soup)
For those with uterine coldness, you can eat more foods that replenish qi and warm the body in your diet, such as walnuts, red dates, beef, lamb, ginger, cinnamon, etc., and pay attention to keeping warm. The classic classic medicinal diet suitable for women's warming and nourishment is the "Dang Gui Sheng Jiang Yang Rou Tang".
Main ingredients: 20g Angelica, 30g Ginger, 500g Lamb.
Method: Wash the lamb, remove the sinews, blanch it in boiling water to remove blood, then take it out, let it cool, and cut it into strips about 5cm long, 2cm wide, and 1cm thick. Wash the angelica and ginger with clean water, then slice them lengthwise and loosely tie them in a gauze bag.
Take a clean pot (a clay pot is best) and add an appropriate amount of water. Put the cut lamb strips into the pot, followed by the angelica and ginger. First, bring to a boil over high heat, skim off the foam, then simmer over low heat for about two hours until the meat is tender.
Eat the meat and drink the soup. Accompanying it with a small amount of warm yellow wine can enhance the effect.
Pressing Dazhui Point (GV14)
There is a warming point on the Du meridian called "Dazhui Point." The six Yang meridians of the body intersect at this point, making it a major acupoint for "Yang within Yang" that warms the body. Pressing Dazhui Point can generate yang qi, dispel cold, and generate heat.
It's easy to find Dazhui Point. Lower your head, and the depression below the most prominent vertebra at the base of your neck is the Dazhui Point.
Every morning and evening, rub the Dazhui Point with your palm for 5-10 minutes until you feel a sore, swollen, and warm sensation. Normally, you can pinch along the spine to stimulate the Du meridian, which can also generate yang qi, dispel cold, and generate heat.
Bian Shi Hot Therapy
Bian Shi (stone therapy tools) have the effects of calming the mind, regulating qi and blood, and unblocking the meridians.
Use three palm-sized, flat Bian Shi stones, place them in 60-70°C hot water for a few minutes, take them out, and dry them. Place one flat on the lower abdomen, slightly below the center (Zhongji point), and the other two on either side of the Zhongji point (Zigong points). After 5-10 minutes, remove the stones, reheat them, and place them back on the acupoints. Repeat this three times. Persisting with this hot compress on the acupoints daily has the effect of warming the meridians, unblocking collaterals, dispelling cold, and expelling pathogenic factors, and can treat uterine coldness.
