Soy milk is nutritious and loved by many. However, nutrition experts remind us to pay attention to the following situations when drinking soy milk:
1. Do not drink it before it is fully cooked
Raw soy milk contains substances that are harmful to the human body. If consumed without being thoroughly cooked, it can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Therefore, soy milk must be heated thoroughly; it should not be turned off as soon as it boils, but should be repeatedly boiled for 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Do not drink it on an empty stomach
Drinking soy milk on an empty stomach causes most of the protein in it to be converted into energy and consumed by the body, failing to provide its full nutritional benefits. Soy milk should be consumed with foods rich in carbohydrates and starch, such as crackers, steamed buns, or bread, or be taken 1 to 2 hours after breakfast.

3. Do not add raw eggs
Raw eggs contain a viscous protein that combines with trypsin in soy milk, forming a complex protein that is not easily absorbed by the body and does not increase nutritional value.
4. Do not mix with honey
Honey contains large amounts of glucose and fructose, along with a small amount of organic acid. When mixed with soy milk, it combines with the protein in the soy milk, causing it to denature and precipitate, making it unabsorbable by the body.
5. Do not add brown sugar
Brown sugar contains various organic acids that easily bind with the proteases in soy milk, causing the protein to denature and precipitate, which is not easily absorbed by the body.
6. Do not drink too much at once
Drinking too much soy milk at once can easily lead to indigestion of protein, causing discomforts such as bloating and diarrhea. This is especially important for those with chronic stomach conditions.
