Chewing gum can improve concentration.

Have you ever tried to focus on your studies, only to be easily distracted by your surroundings and unable to concentrate? Have you ever found your mind wandering in class, unable to focus on your books?...According to the recently released "Wrigley's Attention Index," teenagers in eight Asian countries or regions are experiencing attention problems in various aspects of their lives, including study, sports, and daily activities.

In mainland China, only 31% of teenagers reported being able to concentrate in their daily studies and lives. The "index," based on a survey of 3,048 teenagers in Asia, reflects issues that negatively impact teenagers' academic performance, daily life, and even their self-confidence.

"Many parents believe that a lack of concentration is a sign of a child's love of play or dislike of studying, so they often criticize the child. However, science has proven that differences in brain structure determine individual learning abilities. Therefore, for children who are behind in learning, criticism alone is not enough. It is necessary to provide remedial training tailored to their weaknesses to stimulate their desire to learn," said Professor Liu Xiangping, a doctoral supervisor in the Department of Psychology at Beijing Normal University. "Having students play attention games during or between classes, such as threading a needle, mental arithmetic, or speed reading competitions, can provide 'stimulation' for their brain activity and help them improve their concentration."

Dr. Andy Smith, a professor of psychology at Cardiff University in the UK, stated, "Research shows that chewing gum is one of the most convenient ways to help improve concentration."
