Eating too much chili peppers increases the risk of cancer.

Italian doctors have warned that a type of chili pepper, which is very popular in Italy, may increase the risk of prostate cancer for those who consume it.

According to ANSA, the Italian Society of Urology reminded men not to eat too much of this Italian chili pepper on the occasion of the European Prostate Protection Day. Legend has it that this chili was brought back to Italy by Columbus and has been used since ancient times as a food to enhance male sexual potency.

In Italy, this chili is used in many dishes, including the most popular Roman-style bucatini. In the southern regions of Italy, it is even added to the simplest and most commonly eaten dishes. In the summer, strings of colorful chili peppers can be seen hanging to dry everywhere on trees, windows, and balconies, creating a unique sight.

However, the president of the association, Vincenzo Miron, said that excessive consumption of this chili can cause prostatitis and lead to tumors.

Worldwide, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death in men, second only to lung cancer.
