The Health Benefits of Soy Sauce

Soy sauce is a common condiment in our daily lives. In fact, besides enhancing the color, aroma, and flavor of food, soy sauce can also prevent diseases and promote health.

1. Preventing cardiovascular diseases and stroke

Soy sauce contains isoflavones, which can lower cholesterol in the human body and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Dark soy sauce produces an antioxidant effect after entering the body, reducing the damage caused by free radicals to blood vessels, preventing arteriosclerosis, and decreasing the incidence of heart disease and stroke.

2. Preventing breast cancer

The main ingredient of soy sauce is soybeans, which contain various nutrients and isoflavones. The growth of malignant tumors requires the formation of new blood vessels to transport nutrients. Isoflavones can prevent the formation of new blood vessels, thus having an anti-cancer effect.

3. Treating burns, scalds, and insect bites

For minor burns or bee/insect stings, a small amount of soy sauce can be applied to the affected area.

4. Treating stomach pain

Take 30ml of soy sauce, 9g of tea leaves, and 150ml of water. Boil the tea leaves in water, then add soy sauce and boil again. Take the resulting liquid in three doses.

5. Treating bedwetting in children

Place 10 eggs and 8g of tea leaves in soy sauce and cook for 10 minutes. Crack the eggshells, add 3g of salt, and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Then take the eggs and dip them in soy sauce to consume.

6. Treating skin itching

Take equal parts of soy sauce and vinegar, mix them together, and apply to the itchy area.
