Learn to eat vegetables by their color.

Fruits and vegetables are divided into seven categories by color, each with its own unique health benefits.

Red—Includes tomatoes (cooked tomatoes are more effective), pink grapefruit, and watermelon. Can help prevent prostate, heart, and lung diseases.

Red/Purple—Includes red/blue grapes, blueberries, strawberries, beets, eggplant, red cabbage, red peppers, plums, and red apples. Red wine is also included in this category. Can slow down cellular aging and prevent vascular blockage.

Orange—Includes carrots, mangoes, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe. Can protect the skin from radiation damage and help repair damaged DNA.

Orange/Yellow—Includes oranges, peaches, papayas, and tangerines. Can help prevent heart disease.

Yellow-Green—Includes spinach, corn, green peas, pears, and honeydew. Can effectively prevent cataracts and skin deterioration.

Green—Includes broccoli, bok choy, Brussels sprouts, etc. Can help prevent cancer.

White-Green—Includes garlic, onions, celery, asparagus, pears, green grapes, and leeks. Can help fight tumors. White wine is also included in this category.

Nutrition experts say that it's not difficult to consume ten servings of fruits and vegetables a day. For example, one serving could include: one medium apple, one banana, one orange, half a grapefruit, a quarter of a melon, a glass of leafy green juice, half a cup of cooked or chopped vegetables, and six ounces of fruit or vegetable juice.

When dining out, in addition to eating fruit and vegetable salads, it's best to pair your main course with green vegetables. With so many benefits, nutrition experts hope everyone can become a "color lover".
