According to recent reports from Mexican media, researchers in the country have discovered a drink with insulin-like functions—hibiscus flower tea.
Researchers from the Biochemical Engineering Department at the Tecnológico de Monterrey found that hibiscus flowers have a special effect on lowering glucose in the blood. This principle is similar to that of insulin injections for diabetic patients.
Experiments have shown that although the human body cannot fully obtain this biological enzyme by drinking hibiscus flower tea, it can indeed lower blood glucose concentration to a certain extent. Therefore, hibiscus flower tea is a high-quality health drink for both diabetic patients and patients with cardiovascular diseases.
