Carrots with Broccoli

Main ingredients: 1 small carrot, 1/2 broccoli, 4 cloves of garlic, a section of white scallion, appropriate amount of vegetable oil, 1 spoonful of cornstarch, a pinch of salt

Steps

1. Wash the broccoli and break it into small pieces. Soak it in light salt water for 20 minutes.

2. Wash, peel, and cut the carrot into rolling-cut pieces.

3. Add an appropriate amount of water to a pot, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Blanch the carrots until a fork can easily pierce through, which takes about 6-7 minutes. Then, add the broccoli and continue blanching for 2-3 minutes before removing.

4. Take a small spoonful of cornstarch and add a small amount of water to make a starch slurry.

5. Cut the scallion into small sections and slice the garlic. Heat an appropriate amount of vegetable oil in another pot, add the scallions and garlic to stir-fry until fragrant, and season with salt.

6. Pour in the starch slurry and stir continuously. Once it bubbles, add the blanched carrots and broccoli, stir a few times, and then remove from the heat.

7. Look at the finished product. Doesn't it look tempting for kids to eat more vegetables?
