Passion fruit and milk are foods we often consume in our daily lives. However, it's important to understand whether these two foods can be eaten together. It is not recommended to mix passion fruit with milk, as milk does not pair well with fruit juice or acidic beverages, as this can easily cause indigestion or diarrhea.
1. When acidic substances are mixed with milk, a reaction naturally occurs. 80% of the protein in milk is casein. When the pH of the milk drops below 4.6 (anything below 7 is considered acidic), a large amount of casein will coagulate and precipitate, making it difficult to digest and absorb. In severe cases, this can lead to indigestion or diarrhea. Therefore, it is not advisable to add fruit juice or other acidic beverages to milk. If milk has been accidentally mixed, it is best not to consume it!
2. Direct consumption: Take a ripe passion fruit, wash it, cut it open, and eat the juice directly. You can also add some sugar and stir with a spoon before eating. The seeds are crunchy and edible, and are as nutritious as sunflower seeds.
3. Making juice: Take one passion fruit, cut it open and scoop out the juice (with seeds) into a cup. Add 200ml of water and an appropriate amount of sugar syrup to adjust the sweetness. Stir to get a juice that is excellent in color, aroma, flavor, and nutrition. If you blend it in a soy milk maker for a few seconds, the result will be even better. Use iced water in the summer and warm water in the winter. Adding a dozen or so drops of milk can prevent the juice from separating quickly, preserving its appearance and enhancing its flavor.
