Dish Name: Braised Chicken with Chestnuts
Ingredients: Chicken, Chestnuts
Seasonings: Light soy sauce, Dark soy sauce, Sugar, Salt, Ginger, Garlic, Scallions
1. Rinse the pre-cooked chestnuts, make a slit on each, and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes.
2. Cut the chicken into small pieces. In a sealed container, marinate the chicken with one tablespoon of light soy sauce, one teaspoon of dark soy sauce, one tablespoon of sugar, one pinch of salt, one slice of ginger, and two cloves of garlic for at least half an hour.
3. Heat the pan with oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, arrange the chicken pieces in the pan and pan-fry until golden brown on both sides. Add the chestnuts and stir-fry for about 8 minutes.
4. Add water, just enough to cover the chicken. Cover the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for about half an hour. Uncover, adjust the seasoning, then increase the heat to high and reduce the sauce until it thickens. Serve.
