"Healthy Foods" That Can Make You Gain Weight.

What is truly the healthiest food to eat? When you can finally sit leisurely at an outdoor café enjoying what you think is healthy food, you may not realize that those "healthy foods" focused on being low-fat and low-calorie can still lead to weight gain. Imagine the belly that would protrude after gorging on these foods. Would you still dare to eat so indiscriminately?

1. Sushi

Rice, vegetables, fresh fish, seaweed—the ingredients are absolutely healthy and fresh. However, many popular rolls contain excessive amounts of cheese and various sauces. The seafood tempura in these dishes is even worse, definitely unhealthy. And of course, eating sushi is never without soy sauce, and the excess salt in soy sauce can also lead to water retention.

TIPS: It's fine to visit a Japanese restaurant once a month. Just avoid the tempura if you can't resist your favorite sushi.

2. Juice – High Sugar Content

Juice is an excellent choice for supplementing your daily dietary fiber at any time. But have you noticed that even fresh-pressed juice often has too much sugar added to ensure a good taste? Unless you make it yourself, it's hard to guarantee you won't gain weight from drinking juice.

TIPS: We have a juicer in the office, thanks to the boss's thoughtfulness. I bring my own fruit every day; if I'm too lazy to eat it, I just juice it myself, and it's cheaper too.

3. Salad – Salad Dressing is High in Calories

Vegetables, fresh fruits, and sashimi are fine, but the source of the calories is obviously the large servings of salad dressing, cheese shreds, and candied nuts. They make the food more visually appealing, but also cause the calories and fat you consume to soar. If it's a pasta salad, the calorie count can easily exceed that of a traditional pasta dish.

TIPS: Switch the salad dressing for yogurt, and you won't have to worry.

4. Tofu – Fried Tofu is Unhealthy

Tofu itself is not a problem; plain white tofu is perfectly fine. But once you add salt, soy sauce, sugar, or even egg yolk and crab roe, its nature is completely changed. Not to mention those pan-fried or deep-fried tofu varieties—they are simply a disaster for a healthy diet.

TIPS: It seems I can't eat stinky tofu, but luckily I don't eat it often. No need to worry!

5. Dried Fruits, Candied Fruits – They Cause Weight Gain

The favorite office snack for many girls, yet it could be a hidden contributor to obesity. Due to dehydration and special processing, dried fruits have 5-8 times more calories and sugar than fresh fruit. If 50 grams of fresh grapes contain 60 calories, then raisins will have 460 calories. How tragic!

TIPS: It seems if I have a craving, I should just chew some gum! Fresh fruit is also a good choice.

6. Nutty Oatmeal – Not Low in Sugar

Oatmeal is a healthy breakfast for many office workers, but the problem is choosing the kind with nuts and roasted, crispy oatmeal. While the taste is crunchy, it adds excessive oil and sugar. Every 100 grams of nutty oatmeal can have as high as 500 calories, which is hard to burn off even after a busy morning of work.

TIPS: It seems I can only choose plain oatmeal for breakfast. But maybe adding dried fruit is okay? Otherwise, my breakfast is doomed too.

7. Low-Sugar Coffee – High in Fat

The smooth texture of low-sugar coffee is usually achieved by adding milk, but these concentrated milk shots can add 200 calories or more to a regular cup of coffee. It may seem like you're also getting calcium, but the amount of fat you're consuming is considerable.

TIPS: Adding a little sugar to coffee is actually fine, just use less. Or just drink pure black coffee, nice and simple.

8. Vegetarian Chicken Wrap – High in Calories

Although it contains fresh vegetables and vegetarian ham, a careful calculation shows that one roasted wrap can have over 300 calories, which is no less than a sandwich of the same size. The surface area of the crispy wrap is definitely larger than two slices of toast. You really can't trust your eyes on this one.

TIPS: Western food is just so high in calories. It's more substantial to have some stir-fried vegetables and rice.

9. Canned Tea Drinks – Not Better Than Soda

Canned tea drinks bought at convenience stores or supermarkets usually have sugar or honey added. To ensure a good taste, the excessive addition of these sweeteners is definitely a catalyst for obesity. A regular canned tea drink can have 200 calories, which isn't much better than soda.

TIPS: I already knew I shouldn't drink canned tea. Pure water, pure water—that's the only way to go.

10. Rice Cakes – Lack of Fiber and Protein

Snacks like rice cakes are fat-free and low in calories, but they are also completely lacking in fiber and protein. Experts point out that these snacks have a minimal effect on suppressing hunger, and instead, the large amounts of added sugar and salt lead to more calorie intake.

TIPS: If you're hungry, eating this is really completely useless.
