How to prevent food from molding in hot and humid weather.

Dried goods: Dried goods prefer a dry, ventilated place where they generally do not spoil. Some dried seafood, such as dried fish, dried shrimp, dried scallops, and mussels, are prone to mold due to temperature and humidity during storage. You can place some garlic cloves at the bottom of the jar before adding the dried seafood, then seal the lid tightly to store for a longer period.

Soy sauce: Add a layer of sesame oil to the bottle of soy sauce to separate it from the air, which can prevent mold growth.

Sausages and cured meats: Dip a cotton swab in a small amount of vegetable oil or sesame oil and apply it evenly to the surface to prevent mold.

Vinegar: Add a small amount of sesame oil or peanut oil to the vinegar bottle to isolate the vinegar from the air and prevent a white film from forming.

Dried shiitake mushrooms, wood ear fungus, dried shrimp, and other dried goods should be stored in sealed containers.

Traditional anti-mold method: Place kelp in white rice (100 grams of kelp for every 10 kilograms of rice) to effectively kill pests and inhibit mold.

For some foods that have already become moldy, do not be reluctant to discard them promptly. Never eat them with the hope of avoiding harm, as it will damage your body and affect your health. Standing water should be cleared daily.

The temperature mosquitoes prefer is around 30 degrees Celsius, and their survival and reproduction require water. With continuous rainy days, standing water on the ground and in ditches of private residences, as well as in flower pots, bottles, and cans on balconies, can provide a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes like to breed in stagnant, dirty water. Don't think that because it rains every day, you can be lazy about clearing standing water, as this creates an opportunity for mosquitoes to run rampant.

Even during continuous rain, you should regularly check for standing water in containers, flower pots, floor drains, and ditches at home. Cover containers with lids and change the water in those that can be changed frequently. Spray insecticide in places like floor drains and ditches where water accumulates to prevent mosquito breeding.

Mosquitoes are afraid of the scent emitted by certain flowers and products like cooling oil and medicated balm. Placing one or two pots of blooming roses, mint, or jasmine in the bedroom, or placing uncovered cooling oil or medicated balm, will keep mosquitoes at a distance.
