Nutritionists believe that regularly consuming foods that lower fat and cleanse the intestines can not only help expel greasiness but also protect the cardiovascular system and prevent "three highs" (high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high blood lipids). When interviewed by a reporter from the "Life Times," Sun Mengli, Director of the Department of Nutrition at Peking University First Hospital, recommended the following eight foods that help alleviate greasiness.
1. Oats: They have the effect of lowering cholesterol and blood lipids. This is because oats are rich in dietary fiber, and this soluble oat fiber cannot be found in other grains.
2. Onions: Onions contain compounds such as cycloallin and thioallylamine, which help dissolve blood clots. Foreigners especially love onions; they often pair them with high-fat, high-calorie foods to counteract the greasiness.
3. Corn: It is rich in calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, selenium, and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, E, and carotene. It is also high in dietary fiber. Regular consumption of corn oil can lower cholesterol and soften blood vessels. Boiling corn is the simplest way to prepare it.
4. Chinese Yam: The Chinese yam is known as the "food of the immortals." Its mucoprotein can prevent fat deposition in the cardiovascular system, maintain vascular elasticity, and prevent arteriosclerosis; it also reduces subcutaneous fat deposition, avoiding obesity.
5. Seaweed: Known as the "vegetable from the ocean," its low-calorie, low-fat characteristics have drawn the attention of nutritionists. Seaweed contains phytochemicals such as plant polysaccharides, which have multiple physiological functions, including antioxidant, immune-regulating, anti-tumor, anti-infection, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-aging effects. Brown algae like kelp are rich in colloidal fiber, which can significantly lower serum cholesterol.
6. Tremella (Silver Ear): Tremella is nourishing but not greasy and is a fine medicinal tonic. It is rich in dietary fiber, which can enhance gastrointestinal motility and reduce fat absorption. Tremella polysaccharide, a type of plant polysaccharide, has effects such as lowering cholesterol, enhancing immunity, anti-tumor, anti-aging, and beautifying the skin.
7. Celery: It contains a significant amount of dietary fiber, especially components that lower blood pressure, and also has lipid-lowering and blood sugar-lowering effects. In addition, celery leaves contain more carotene and vitamin C, so do not throw away the tender leaves when eating celery.
8. Hawthorn: The pectin in hawthorn is a soluble dietary fiber that can lower cholesterol and prevent atherosclerosis. Regular consumption of hawthorn can remove grease and alleviate greasiness, and promote digestion.
