Four cups of green tea a day can prevent skin cancer

Researchers at Case Western Reserve University in the United States have found that drinking four cups of green tea daily can prevent skin cancer. If the components of green tea are added to skin creams, they may also have a preventive effect on skin cancer.

Generally speaking, Asians consume far more green tea than Westerners, which may be one of the reasons why Asians have a much lower chance of developing skin cancer than Westerners.

Green tea contains antioxidants, including EGCG, which researchers believe may be the main component responsible for its anti-cancer effects. Although current research on skin cancer has been conducted on mice, it may have similar protective effects on humans.

In the past, green tea has also been found to cause the regression of new blood vessels around cancer cells, thus having an anti-cancer effect. However, no anti-cancer drug composed entirely of green tea has been developed to date. Nevertheless, many experts believe that using green tea for daily health maintenance is a very good choice.
