One of the causes of chronic rhinitis is malnutrition, primarily referring to a deficiency of Vitamin A, and it is also believed to be related to a deficiency of Vitamin B. Therefore, patients with chronic rhinitis should consume more foods rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin B to meet the body's needs. In fruits and vegetables, such as apricots, pineapples, persimmons, carrots, tomatoes, and rape, as well as animal liver, eggs, and milk, there are abundant amounts of Vitamin A and carotene. Carotene can be converted into Vitamin A after entering the human body. Vitamin B is mainly found in lean meat, animal liver, coarse grains, brown rice, millet, cornmeal, and buckwheat flour.
In addition, from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, different dietary adjustments should be given according to different syndromes. For example, for those with excess-heat syndrome, it is not advisable to eat mutton, chili peppers, or drink alcohol; for those with deficiency syndrome, it is not advisable to eat radishes, and yams should be consumed; for those with dry or atrophic rhinitis, it is not advisable to eat spicy and dry-heat foods, and more fruits, vegetables, and honey should be consumed.
