Experts remind that special attention should be paid to preventing certain diseases and even acute conditions when drinking alcohol in the summer. Individuals with chronic illnesses should be especially cautious about consuming alcohol during this season.

While drinking chilled beer can be refreshing, it still contains alcohol. Excessive consumption can lead to a dry mouth, a parched throat, and a feeling of body heat. It is particularly unadvisable to drink frozen beer after heavy sweating or exercise. When sweating profusely, pores are dilated; drinking ice-cold beer causes these pores to contract suddenly, halting the sweating process. This impedes the body's ability to dissipate heat and can easily trigger illnesses like the common cold.

Furthermore, improper consumption of beer in the summer can adversely affect the gastrointestinal system, heart, liver, and kidneys, and may also trigger gout. Consuming large quantities of chilled beer can cause a rapid drop in gastrointestinal temperature and reduced blood flow, leading to physiological dysfunction and impaired digestive function. In severe cases, this can even induce life-threatening acute conditions such as spasmodic abdominal pain, diarrhea, and acute pancreatitis.

Experts recommend that beer should not be served too cold. Beer stored in the refrigerator should be kept between 5°C and 10°C. Within this temperature range, the various components of the beer are in harmonious balance, creating the best possible taste. Additionally, beer should not be consumed with pickled and smoked foods, and excessive drinking should be avoided. After consuming beer, the lead content in the blood increases. When combined with the organic amines in smoked foods, this can produce harmful substances that may induce digestive tract diseases.
