Shrimp is prepared by washing live shrimp in clean water, then removing the head, tail, and shell. The peeled shrimp meat is what is known as shrimp. It is nutritious and has a delicious flavor.
Shrimp has the effects of nourishing the kidneys, strengthening yang, and promoting stomach health. When cooked, it can warm and tonify kidney yang. For those who are weak from long-term illness, experience shortness of breath and fatigue, or have a sallow complexion and emaciation, it can serve as a therapeutic food supplement. Healthy individuals can eat it to improve fitness and strength. Shrimp stir-fried in wine can treat symptoms like kidney deficiency with lower coldness, impotence, and spermatorrhea or premature ejaculation. Crushed raw shrimp applied externally can treat carbuncles.
Shrimp should not be eaten with certain fruits. Shrimp contains relatively rich nutrients like protein and calcium. If consumed with fruits containing tannic acid, such as grapes, pomegranates, hawthorn, or persimmons, it not only reduces the nutritional value of the protein but also causes tannic acid and calcium ions to form insoluble compounds that irritate the stomach and intestines, leading to discomfort in the body, with symptoms like vomiting, dizziness, nausea, and abdominal pain or diarrhea. There should be an interval of at least 2 hours between eating seafood and these fruits.
Generally suitable for all people.
1. Particularly suitable for middle-aged and elderly people, pregnant women, patients with cardiovascular diseases, those with kidney deficiency and impotence, male infertility, and those with weakness in the lower back and legs.
2. Not suitable for individuals with chronic illnesses or those who are currently experiencing "heatiness" (an excess of internal heat according to TCM principles). Elderly people suffering from allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, or recurrent allergic dermatitis should not eat shrimp. As a "wind-evoking" and "trigger" food in TCM, it is contraindicated for those with skin conditions like scabies or tinea.
