Eggs are a common food in people's daily lives. Many friends are unaware of the dietary taboos of eggs, especially for men, as eating too many eggs can potentially lead to death.

On the 9th, US researchers stated that middle-aged men who eat seven or more eggs per week have a higher risk of premature death.

Reuters reported on a research finding published in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition," citing a study led by Luke Jure and Michael Gaziano from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, as part of the "Physicians' Health Study" project.

This research project involved 21,327 men. Since 1981, these volunteers have regularly reported their lifestyle habits and health conditions to doctors. The results found that over 20 years, 1,550 men had heart attacks, 1,342 had strokes, and more than 5,000 eventually died.

The researchers found that the mortality rate for men who ate seven or more eggs per week increased by 23%. During this period, men with diabetes who ate eggs would double their risk of death.

Dietary taboos are an important concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine, because every food has its own properties of cold, heat, warmth, and coolness, and they interact with each other through generation and restriction. When paired correctly, their effects can be doubled; when paired incorrectly, it can reduce the absorption of nutrients from the food, and in severe cases, it can even cause toxic reactions.

Dietary taboos for eggs:

Eggs are a common food that many people eat. While many know their high nutritional value, they often overlook the dietary taboos associated with eating eggs. In daily diets, eating eggs with sugar, soy milk, or rabbit meat are among the biggest misconceptions.

In many places, there is a custom of eating poached eggs in sugar water. In fact, cooking eggs with sugar causes the amino acids in the egg's protein to form a compound called fructose-lysine. This substance is not easily absorbed by the human body and has adverse effects on health. Eggs + cucumber can effectively aid in weight loss.

Many people also have the habit of eating an egg with soy milk in the morning, or beating an egg into the soy milk to cook. Soy milk has a sweet and neutral flavor and is rich in many nutrients such as plant protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. It has a strong nourishing effect when consumed alone. However, it contains a special substance called trypsin, which combines with conalbumin in the egg white, leading to a loss of nutritional value and reducing the nutritional value of both. Eggs also have a dietary taboo: they cannot be eaten with rabbit meat. The "Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "Eggs eaten with rabbit meat cause diarrhea." Rabbit meat has a sweet, cold, and sour flavor, and eggs are sweet, neutral, and slightly cold. Both contain some bioactive substances, and consuming them together can cause reactions that irritate the gastrointestinal tract, leading to diarrhea.
