A Greasy Diet Can Make You Irritable
Eating too greasy can make a person irritable, while consuming too few carbohydrates can lead to a low mood. Researchers conducted a year-long follow-up study on hundreds of participants. One group was on a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet, while the other was on a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet. Participants met with a nutritionist once a month to ensure they adhered to their specific dietary plan.
A Greasy Diet Can Make You Irritable
Researchers tracked changes in participants' emotions, including depression, anxiety, anger, and fatigue, at the beginning of the study, after 8 weeks, after 24 weeks, and after one year. The results showed that although the participants consumed the same number of calories, their emotional states differed significantly. Those who ate greasy foods were more prone to irritability, anger, and anxiety. Researchers explained that greasy food affects the production of certain chemicals in the brain, leading to emotional instability. In contrast, carbohydrates in staple foods help maintain the production of "happy hormones" in the brain, promoting emotional stability and optimism.
The study also found that eating less greasy food while maintaining carbohydrate intake can help with weight loss, and the weight loss effects are more sustainable.
Eating Less Greasy Food Reduces Dandruff
The appearance of dandruff on the scalp is a physiological phenomenon of skin metabolism and self-renewal, which is generally not noticeable. The epidermis of the skin takes 20-30 days to replace itself from growth to death.
Increase Intake of Alkaline Foods
Scientists have found that excessive dandruff is related to physical fatigue. Fatigue is caused by the buildup of acidic substances, such as lactic acid, uric acid, and phosphoric acid, in the body during metabolism. This changes the blood's pH level, causing fatigue and affecting the nutrition of the scalp skin. Consuming more alkaline foods can neutralize excessive acidic substances in the body, restoring the acid-base balance. This not only benefits the scalp's nutrition but also reduces flaking. Physically alkaline foods include fruits, vegetables, and honey, and one should eat more of them.
Eat Foods Rich in Vitamin B2 and B6
Eat more foods rich in Vitamin B2 and B6: Vitamin B2 helps treat seborrheic dermatitis, and Vitamin B6 plays an important role in the normal metabolism of proteins and lipids. Foods rich in Vitamin B2 include animal liver, kidney, heart, egg yolks, dairy products, and vegetables. In addition to the foods mentioned above, foods rich in Vitamin B6 also include wheat germ, yeast, and grains.
Eat Less Spicy and Irritating Food: When there is a lot of dandruff, it is often accompanied by an itchy scalp. Spicy and irritating foods can worsen this itch. Therefore, you should eat less or avoid foods like chili, mustard, raw onions, raw garlic, alcohol, and alcoholic beverages.
Eat Less High-Fat Food: This is especially important for people with oily dandruff. Because consuming more fat can cause the sebaceous glands to secrete excess sebum, which in turn accelerates the production of dandruff.
