"Eat Away" Autumn Minor Ailments
Introduction: In autumn and winter, the incidence of diseases such as toothaches, bad breath, hair loss, and diarrhea is higher, which can have a certain impact on people's work, life, and social interactions. Below, the editor will introduce several dietary therapy methods to help you overcome these annoying troubles.
Toothache
Dietary Therapy
Mussel and Cistanche Black Bean Soup
30 grams each of mussels and Cistanche deserticola, and 150 grams of black beans. Wash the sand and mud off the mussels, wash the black beans, and slice the Cistanche. Place them all in a pot with an appropriate amount of clear water and simmer for over 1 hour. Then, strain the liquid and drink it all at once. Take one dose daily for several consecutive days until the toothache is cured. Mussels enter the kidney meridian to nourish yin and reduce fire; black beans tonify the kidneys, relieve heat and obstruction in the chest, and dissipate accumulated heat in the five organs. Suitable for those with cavities and toothaches, as well as tooth root swelling caused by deficient fire flaring upwards.
Mung Bean and Egg Sweet Water
100 grams of mung beans, 1 egg, and an appropriate amount of rock sugar. Crush the mung beans, wash them with water, place them in a pot with an appropriate amount of water, and cook until the beans are soft. Beat the egg into the mung bean soup, stir well, and let it cool slightly before drinking it all at once. Take for 2-3 consecutive days. Suitable for those with wind-heat toothaches and oral swelling, heat, and sores.
Bad Breath
Dietary Therapy
Mint Porridge
30 grams of fresh mint leaves (or 15 grams of dried), and 50 grams of japonica rice. Wash the fresh mint leaves, put them in a pot with an appropriate amount of water to simmer, discard the dregs, and save the juice. Wash 50 grams of japonica rice, add an appropriate amount of water and cook until the rice is done. Then, pour in the mint juice and cook for another one or two minutes before eating. It has the effect of soothing the throat and freshening the breath.
Lychee Porridge
5-7 dried lychees, and 50 grams of japonica or glutinous rice. Take 5-7 dried lychees (peeled), 50 grams of japonica or glutinous rice, and put them in a pot with an appropriate amount of water to cook into a thin porridge. Eat for dinner, and consume for 3-5 consecutive days as one course of treatment. It has the effects of warming yang, replenishing qi, promoting fluid production, and nourishing blood. Suitable for bad breath and diarrhea in the elderly. Elderly people with a naturally deficient yin and flourishing fire should avoid it.
Hair Loss
Dietary Therapy
Gastrodia Fish Head
Take a 500-gram live carp, scale it, discard the internal organs, cut it in half, and then crosswise into eight pieces. Also cut the fish head into eight pieces and divide into bowls. Slice 10 grams each of Chuancao and Poria, soak them in rice washing water, then add 25 grams of Gastrodia. After soaking for 4-9 hours, take out the Gastrodia, steam it until tender on top of rice, then slice it thinly and divide it into the bowls with the fish. Next, mix seasonings with an appropriate amount of clear broth and pour it over the fish. Steam in a steamer until cooked, and add seasonings to taste before eating. Take once in the morning and once at night, one bowl daily, for over 20 consecutive days until new hair grows. This dietary therapy has the effects of nourishing blood to grow hair, unblocking meridians, and resolving phlegm. It is suitable for alopecia areata and total alopecia caused by meridian blockage and blood deficiency generating wind.
Hair Growth Black Bean
500 grams of black beans, 1000 ml of water (use 1/4 of the amount in summer). Wash the black beans, place them in a clay pot, add water, and simmer over low heat until the beans are fully swollen. Then, take out the black beans, sprinkle with a little fine salt, and store in a porcelain jar. Take 6 grams each time, twice daily after meals, with warm water. This dietary therapy has the effect of promoting hair growth and protecting hair. It is effective for oily alopecia (circular alopecia), seborrheic alopecia, postpartum hair loss, hair loss during illness, and vitiligo caused by pigment loss.
