Getting "heaty" indicates a high level of "toxins" in the body
Introduction: Nearly 85% of urban dwellers are prone to "heatiness," with women accounting for 93% and men for nearly 80%. In spring, "four types of fire" are common: heart fire, liver fire, stomach fire, and deficiency fire.
"Heatiness" indicates the presence of "toxins" in the body
Harmful substances that accumulate in the body can be either exogenous or endogenous. Exogenous toxins include: harmful additives, pesticide residues, hormone-boosted substances; foods contaminated by environmental hormones, air pollution, pathogenic bacteria, and mold. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), these are known as "pathogenic toxins."
Endogenous toxins are metabolic byproducts. The more active the metabolism, the greater the internal heat, the darker the urine, and the more metabolic waste is excreted. The stickier, darker, and more foul-smelling the stool, the more toxins are being expelled. These toxins always accumulate and stagnate in the body. The process of toxin accumulation is aging; the more toxins, the faster the aging.
To reduce the production and accumulation of toxins, the best method is timely detoxification, which helps to reduce the "heat."
TCM believes there are four pathways for detoxification
Regular bowel movements Bowel movements should not only be regular but also timely. If the stool is dark, has a strong odor, and indicates high toxin levels, it may be necessary to have more than one bowel movement a day.
Timely urination Pay attention to changes in urine color, as this can indicate the body's process of expelling toxins.
Massaging the skin After moderate exercise, frequently massage the skin, especially the face, feet, ears, head, and other areas to aid in detoxification.
Deep breathing Inhale less and exhale more. You can also practice self-induced sneezing, which is even more effective at expelling turbid air and toxins.
"Watch your diet, slow down your life" to reduce "heatiness"
The frequent "heatiness" among modern people is related to the fast-paced lifestyle. As toxins accumulate, minor "fires" can hide major health problems. Therefore, timely "fire reduction" is crucial. There are "two major strategies" for this: watching your diet and slowing down your life.
Watching your diet means avoiding harmful substances as much as possible; controlling the intake of animal-based meats; eating more non-toxic, low-toxic, or toxin-neutralizing foods, such as fresh vegetables and fruits; drinking more water to dilute toxins and facilitate their excretion; eating out less; and having one of your three daily meals be a congee meal. For those with a sore throat or chronic pharyngitis, it is advisable to speak softly and often hold an olive in the mouth.
Slowing down your life means moderately slowing your metabolic pace and detoxifying in a timely manner. On one hand, you must control yourself, avoid盲目ly adding pressure, and maintain a balance between tension and relaxation. When metabolism slows, material consumption decreases, heart fire will not be too excessive, and waste production will also be reduced.
Often move your limbs, do things like meridian massage and foot therapy to strengthen the circulation of qi and blood, which helps transport toxins to the liver and kidneys in a timely manner and excrete them smoothly. On hazy days, go out less, avoid crowded public places, and steer clear of air pollution.
