Introduction: According to a report in the U.S. "Medical Daily," a new study conducted by a collaboration between Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and The Ohio State University found that eating more tomatoes daily can help protect breast health.
The research team recruited 70 postmenopausal women to participate in a 10-week trial during which they adhered to a tomato-rich diet, corresponding to an intake of at least 25 milligrams of lycopene per day.

At the end of the trial, researchers evaluated changes in participants' adiponectin levels (a hormone that regulates glucose and affects a person's risk of breast cancer). The results showed that after 10 weeks of maintaining a lycopene-rich diet, participants' adiponectin levels increased by an average of 9%, thereby reducing the risk of breast cancer.

Experts suggest that since lycopene is a fat-soluble substance, cooked tomatoes are more effective than raw ones. Additionally, the skin and seeds of tomatoes contain a lot of lycopene, so it's best to keep them when eating.
