Most teenage girls are troubled by acne that appears on their faces, and a brand new study has found that the likelihood of developing pimples is related to the amount of milk consumed daily.
Researchers claim that women who drink more than two glasses of skim milk a day are 44% more likely to have facial acne than the average person. If not limited to skim milk, the risk of developing acne increases by 22% for those who drink three or more glasses of milk daily.
This research finding, published in the *Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology*, is the result of an investigation involving 47,335 women. The researchers stated, "We found an association between acne and the amount of milk consumed daily, as well as the amount of skim milk consumed, which may be caused by the hormones and bioactive molecules in milk." The study is ongoing.
