Are you drinking your milk like it's poison?

Here are six common ways of drinking milk that are as harmful as taking poison. Check if you or someone you know does this. If so, please remind them not to leave all your questions for your doctor...

1. The thicker the milk, the better

Some people believe that the thicker the milk, the more nutrition the body gets, which is unscientific. So-called "overly concentrated milk" refers to adding too much milk powder and too little water to milk, making its concentration exceed the normal standard. Others, fearing that fresh milk is too thin, add milk powder to it. If infants and young children often drink overly concentrated milk, it can cause diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, or even refusal to eat. It can also lead to acute hemorrhagic enteritis. This is because the organs of infants and young children are delicate and cannot withstand the heavy burden and pressure.

2. Milk and Chocolate

Some people think that since milk is a high-protein food and chocolate is an energy food, eating them together must be very beneficial. This is not the case. Liquid milk combined with chocolate causes a chemical reaction between the calcium in the milk and the oxalic acid in the chocolate, forming "calcium oxalate." Thus, the originally nutritious calcium becomes a harmful substance to the human body, leading to calcium deficiency, diarrhea, delayed development in children and adolescents, dry hair, easy fractures, and an increased incidence of urinary tract stones.

3. Milk and Eggs

Experts point out that a breakfast of milk and eggs is not scientific, as protein is difficult to provide energy. Currently, more than 9% of children only have milk and eggs for breakfast, with grains long absent from their morning meal. Most parents think this kind of breakfast is "internationalized," but they don't realize this is a very wrong concept. Milk and eggs are good things, but they are used in the wrong place. After more than ten hours of energy consumption overnight, the human body urgently needs a breakfast rich in carbohydrates to replenish energy, but milk and eggs cannot provide enough energy.

4. Milk with Rice Soup or Porridge

Some people think that this can make the nutrients complement each other. In fact, this practice is very unscientific. Milk contains vitamin A, while rice soup and porridge are mainly starch-based. They contain lipoxidase, which destroys vitamin A. Children, especially infants, if they have an insufficient intake of vitamin A, will have delayed development and be weak and sick. Therefore, even for the purpose of supplementing nutrition, the two should be eaten separately.

5. Milk with Orange Juice or Lemon Juice

Some people suggest adding orange juice or lemon juice to milk, which seems like a good idea, but in reality, both orange and lemon are high-in-fructose fruits. When fructose encounters the protein in milk, it will denature the protein, thereby reducing the nutritional value of the protein.

6. Milk with Medicine

Some people also believe that taking medicine with something nutritious is definitely beneficial, but this is extremely wrong. Milk can significantly affect the human body's absorption rate of drugs, causing the drug concentration in the blood to be significantly lower than that of people who take medicine without milk within the same period. Taking medicine with milk can also easily form a coating on the surface of the drug, causing chemical reactions between the calcium and magnesium minerals in the milk and the drug to form water-insoluble substances. This not only reduces the effectiveness of the drug but may also be harmful to the body. Therefore, it is best not to drink milk one or two hours before or after taking medicine.
