Six Foods to Relieve Fall Allergies

Seasonal allergies can be a nuisance for many people. In fact, foods contain natural anti-inflammatory substances that help reduce histamine produced by the body, preventing and alleviating allergies. The U.S. "Active Times" invited Dr. Nicola Ducharme, an American medical and health expert, to summarize "Foods that can relieve fall allergies."

Turmeric

Turmeric root powder (curry) is a common seasoning with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Its mechanism works by curbing a protein that causes inflammation, thereby reducing allergies.

Red Bell Peppers

Bell peppers (especially red bell peppers) are rich in vitamin C, which has anti-inflammatory effects, as well as carotenoids that are beneficial for boosting the immune system.

Red Grapes

Red grapes are an important source of resveratrol. Resveratrol has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antibacterial, and anti-allergic effects.

Olive

The best anti-inflammatory foods are those rich in healthy fats, and olive oil is the prime example. Olives also have immune-boosting properties, and some doctors even recommend taking supplements of olive leaf extract.

Avocado

Avocado, also known as alligator pear, is rich in carotenoids and vitamin E, and has excellent anti-inflammatory effects.

Kale

Eating more green leafy vegetables helps boost the human immune system and reduce the risk of allergies. Kale with tofu is a good combination.
