Bad breath? Don't worry, try this tea.

A healthy person secretes 1-1.5 liters of saliva daily. Besides aiding in eating and digestion, it also acts as a natural cleanser for the mouth. If saliva secretion decreases, it can easily lead to bad breath. For this reason, people who often have a dry mouth should drink more osmanthus tea. It not only promotes the production of saliva to quench thirst but also helps prevent and treat bad breath. Don't worry about bad breath; try this tea.

Osmanthus Tea

Osmanthus, also known as "nine-mile fragrance," has a fresh and pleasant aroma. The "osmanthus distillate" obtained from steam-distilling osmanthus is an excellent beverage that awakens the spleen and stimulates the appetite, as well as soothes the liver and regulates qi. It is also commonly used to relieve a dry throat, mouth dryness, bad breath, and toothaches. Brewing osmanthus tea has similar effects. Because osmanthus is pungent and warm in nature, it is best paired with cooler green or oolong tea in the spring. Use 3 grams of dried osmanthus and 5 grams of green or oolong tea. Steep with boiling water for 6 minutes before drinking.

Additionally, individuals with a weak constitution or those who often experience a cold stomach can drink a decoction of hawthorn and osmanthus. Use 12 grams of osmanthus, 6 grams of hawthorn, and 3 grams of Codonopsis root. Place them in a small pot with 500 ml of water, bring to a boil, then reduce to the lowest heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Strain the liquid, add a small amount of rock sugar if desired, and let it cool. Drink it frequently as tea.
