Drinking beer early is good for your health.

Researchers from the University of Campinas in Brazil recently suggested that consumers should check the production date before buying beer, and that it is best to drink beer that has been on the market for less than 15 days for the sake of their health.

According to the research, the malt and hops used in brewing beer can produce substances that prevent cardiovascular diseases, and these substances are preserved by phenolic compounds, which are antioxidants in beer.

Over a period of 4 months, the researchers conducted five biochemical analyses on three types of Brazilian beer every 10 days, and also assessed their aroma and taste. The results showed that 15 days after production, 35% of the phenolic compounds in the beer are lost, and the disease-fighting substances are also reduced; after 6 months, a substance similar to acetaldehyde even appears in the beer.

From this, the researchers concluded that, when consumed in moderation, beer is only beneficial to health when consumed as soon as possible.
