Women's anemia can be divided into two types

1. Nutritional deficiency anemia

Nutritional deficiency anemia mainly refers to severe iron deficiency in the body, followed by anemia caused by a lack of vitamin B2. In addition to general anemia symptoms such as dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision, fatigue, and dry, brittle hair, patients may also experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, mouth sores, and glossitis. Many women excessively control their diets, avoiding meat, eggs, and milk, and even consuming little vegetable oil. They long rely on vegetarian foods like vegetables and radishes, leading to anemia.

2. Iron-deficiency anemia

Iron-deficiency anemia is a type of small cell, low-color anemia caused by insufficient stored iron in the body affecting hemoglobin synthesis. It is the most common type of anemia worldwide, including in China. The incidence of this disease is very high, almost globally prevalent. Iron is an important trace element for blood production, and iron deficiency in the diet is the main cause of anemia. Additionally, hookworm infection, poor gastrointestinal absorption, bleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers, hemorrhoid bleeding, and excessive menstrual bleeding or dysfunctional uterine bleeding in women can all cause iron-deficiency anemia.

Blood loss is also the most common cause of anemia, which can be acute or chronic. Chronic blood loss often leads to iron-deficiency anemia; anemia caused by massive blood loss in a short time due to vascular rupture or defects in the hemostatic mechanism from trauma or disease is called acute blood loss anemia.
